What's the difference between a commercial fishery and a specimen lake?
Commercial fisheries are stocked heavily for regular action. Specimen lakes are low-stocking, big-fish venues — you might wait longer between bites but the fish are larger.
Are lodges at the lakeside worth it?
For carp fishing especially, yes — being on the bank 24 hours gives you a huge advantage over day-ticket anglers. Most specimen carp venues only offer lakeside accommodation anyway.
Can I bring my own bait?
At most venues, yes. Some fisheries sell bait on site and restrict certain types. We flag the rules in your plan.
