Paris theatre in spring should lean into the season. The Marais and Saint-Germain café terraces are open from early April. The Jardin du Luxembourg fills with students. The Tuileries are at their best — sculpture garden, fountains, the Musée de l'Orangerie's Monet rooms (still one of the best 90-minute museum visits in Europe). May has the Roland Garros tennis (late May to early June). Easter Sunday is a national holiday — many restaurants close, but the city is at its quietest and most beautiful. The 8 May Victoire holiday creates an easy 4-day weekend that combines well with theatre.
Booking and getting there
Paris theatre in spring needs 8-12 weeks lead time for the Palais Garnier headline productions and 4-6 weeks for everything else. Eurostar is the obvious travel method — 2h15 from St Pancras to Gare du Nord, book 6+ weeks out for spring weekends. Hotels in the Marais or Saint-Germain at 4-star level run €250-450/night in spring — book 6-10 weeks ahead. Is Easter a good time to visit?
