Bath, Somerset, England is a historic city known for its stunning Georgian architecture and ancient Roman Baths. The city is nestled in the rolling countryside of southwest England and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Roman Baths, from which the city derives its name, are a well-preserved public bathing site that dates back to Roman times. Visitors can explore the ancient baths and even taste the spa water, which contains 43 minerals. Adjacent to the Roman Baths is the Bath Abbey, a magnificent example of Perpendicular Gothic architecture. The Abbey is famous for its fan-vaulted ceiling and stained glass windows. Another iconic landmark is the Royal Crescent, a row of 30 terraced houses laid out in a sweeping crescent. This architectural marvel provides a glimpse into the city's Georgian heritage. The Pulteney Bridge, with shops built into it, is another must-see. It's one of only four bridges in the world to have shops across its full span on both sides. For those interested in literature, the Jane Austen Centre offers insights into the life and works of the famous author who lived in Bath in the early 19th century. The city is also home to the Thermae Bath Spa, where you can bathe in naturally warm, mineral-rich waters just as the Celts and Romans did over 2000 years ago.

What this page cannot tell you
- Descriptions and review summaries are supplied by the source index and are reproduced as published; they are not independently verified by Breaks.
- Ratings and review counts are point-in-time snapshots and drift constantly. Check the venue's own site or the rating provider for the current figure.
- Opening hours change seasonally and at short notice. Confirm with the venue before travelling.
- Category labels come from the source index and are occasionally wrong — a venue may be filed under a type that does not match how it trades.
- Straight-line distances understate real walking distance, especially where a river or railway sits between two points.
