What self-guided means
Self-guided means no group, no guide, no fixed pace. You get a day-by-day route plan — GPX files, cue sheets, and stage notes — and ride when you want. Hotels are booked in advance; luggage transfer is available in most destinations. It's the freedom of independent travel with the planning done for you.
The best self-guided destinations
Mallorca, Girona, and Tuscany are the most popular — well-signposted roads, good infrastructure, and reliable weather. The Dolomites suit more experienced riders who want alpine stages. Breaks plans routes for any fitness level in all of these destinations.
Common questions
Do I need to be an experienced cyclist?
No — self-guided suits any ability. We plan the distance and elevation to match your fitness.
What if I get lost or have a mechanical?
Your route plan includes GPX files for your device. Most cycling hotels can recommend local mechanics, and we flag these in your plan.
Is luggage transfer included?
It depends on the destination. We flag where luggage transfer is available and include it if you want it.
Can I do this solo?
Absolutely. Many of our self-guided bookings are solo riders. See our solo cycling holidays page for more.
