Golf Stag Do Trips
Golf stag do trips need every element done right — tee times that can absorb a slow group of 12-16 players, accommodation that's both walkable to the night out and tolerant of an 8am tee, transfers, restaurants and (yes) a plan for the evening side of things. We coordinate it all from one trip brief.

Best destinations for a golf stag do
Golf stag do trips work best in destinations that combine excellent golf with a proper night-out scene. Marbella and the Costa del Sol top the list — 50+ courses, Puerto Banús nightlife, Old Town for civilised dinners, easy direct flights. The Algarve (Vilamoura specifically) is the value alternative — same golf-and-marina formula at lower prices. Dublin is the Irish option — Portmarnock and the South Coast courses, plus Temple Bar evenings (book hotels outside Temple Bar to actually sleep). Edinburgh is the kilted classic — Muirfield, Gullane, the East Lothian courses, plus Old Town and George Street.
Structuring the trip
Golf stag do trips usually run 3-4 nights, Thursday-Sunday or Friday-Monday. The standard format: arrival lunch, afternoon round, evening out. Friday: full day golf (one or two rounds), big group dinner, night out. Saturday: one round in the morning (everyone in better shape than they expect), afternoon recovery (beach, marina, spa, depending), final dinner. Sunday: brunch, flight home. For 16+ players we recommend booking flighted tee times with 8-minute starts. For 8-12 players a single tee time block works. The night-out plan needs to handle the 8am tee the next day — we know which restaurants and bars work and which collapse the morning round.
Logistics — accommodation, transport, surprises
Golf stag do trips need accommodation that suits both early tees and late nights — apart-hotels in Marbella and self-catering villas in the Algarve are the canonical picks. Transfers should be private coach (not taxis — the math gets bad fast). The stag's wardrobe situation, the inevitable themed t-shirts, the morning-after disasters — we've seen it all. Tell us how big the group is, the stag's golf level and what kind of stag (boozy / civilised / sporting), target dates and budget. We'll return a complete proposal including the bits no one asks about until they need them.
Common questions
How many players can a golf stag do handle?
8-30 is the typical range. Above 16 players you need flighted tee times. Above 24 you need a coach and probably a dedicated event coordinator on the trip.
Best destinations for a golf stag in 2026?
Marbella (Costa del Sol) tops the list. Algarve (Vilamoura) is value alternative. Dublin or Edinburgh if you want UK proximity and culture-of-place.
Will the courses accept us as a stag group?
Most resort courses welcome stag groups. Premium championship courses (Valderrama, Quinta do Lago South) are more sensitive — we'll match you to courses that won't complicate things.
How do tee times work for 16+ players?
Flighted starts every 8 minutes, four players per flight. The course starter coordinates. We book this in your name with a single point of contact.
Can you book restaurants AND nightlife venues?
Restaurants yes — usually a big group dinner each evening. Nightlife venues are usually walk-in (clubs prefer it that way) but we'll flag which ones suit large groups.
How far ahead to book?
4-6 months for peak season (April-September). Late availability sometimes possible but limited.
